Just like nothing lasts forever, even this pandemic won’t last long. Slowly and gradually COVID-19 will fade out of our lives! Sooner or later, we will have to go out - to work, for outings, for gatherings, and many other requirements. But even as this happens, we can’t assume that the danger of getting infected is averted.
Slowly and steadily, as locations are coming out of red zones and moving into orange and green zones, Oye! Rickshaw is also building a system to ensure that whoever has to travel for essential requirements, does so in the safest way possible.
With our Oye! Safe Ride Program we have created a 6-step system for your safety, the driver’s safety, and the overall ride’s safety.
1) Social Distancing:
We will only be allowing a maximum of 2 passengers in the rickshaw. A customer can request a booking for this via our Semi-Private ride option.
Private Ride - A customer can opt for a private rickshaw if he finds it to be the safest.
Contactless Payments - To promote social distancing, we have created a better system for customers to go digital and pay online.
2) Vehicle Sanitization:
All our rickshaws will be sanitized after every trip and disinfected daily.
Safety Verified Vehicle - While booking a ride, you can see which vehicles have been fully sanitized with the “Safe Ride” badge against them. You will also be able to see the sanitization details.
3) Driver Temperature Check:
Drivers would have regular temperature checks. The last recorded temperature of the driver would be visible in the app.
4) Personal Hygiene:
Compulsory masks for drivers - It is mandatory for our drivers to always wear masks, gloves and carry sanitizers.
Hygiene Kit - All drivers will be equipped with a spare set of masks, gloves, and sanitizers in case of any emergency.
Self Hygiene for Riders - We encourage our riders to wear masks and carry sanitizers for their and others’ safety.
5) Aarogya Setu app:
It is compulsory for our Drivers Partners to have the Aarogya Setu app downloaded in their phones. This will help them avoid unsafe locations.
We also encourage our riders to download the app.
6) Rides only in green and orange zones:
As per the government instructions, our service will only be available in Green and Orange Zones!
Sharing advice to stay healthy
While we are implementing these measures, we’re reminding everyone who uses Oye! to follow advice from public health authorities. If you’re sick, stay home and away from others, wash your hands frequently, and cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.
Let’s make our daily commutes safe not just for us but also for the people around us.
